First, let’s get to the facts: season 6 of Cobra Kai has not yet been made official by Netflix, although several different members of the production have already commented on their ideas and desires to continue the story. That’s the case of producer Josh Heald , who promised that season 5 is not the end — although it’s not up to him alone, it’s not.

Still, based on the release of the last few seasons, we can try to predict the release period for the 6th year of Cobra Kai.

What to expect from Cobra Kai season 6?

As with Season 4, several hooks were left loose throughout the ten episodes of Season 5.

After Silver reveals that his next goal is to participate in the world karate tournament, the Sekai Taikai, Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence interrupt the villain’s plans and manage to win another spot for the championship. Will we see combatants Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do in global competition in Season 6? Maybe only one of them can participate…

After all, in the tenth episode of the season, the protagonists of the series managed to “defeat” Silver by revealing to all the students that he bribed the referee of the Valley Regional Tournament so that Tory would be champion at any cost, in addition to having convinced Manta to change his testimony to incriminate the villain with the true facts. However, every fan knows that Silver is smooth as soap, so it’s unlikely he’ll be stuck for long.

Speaking of prison… Kreese is back! In a twist inside the jail, Cobra Kai’s original master manages to escape. What will be your next step? One thing is for sure: Daniel and Johnny now have, more than ever, a target on their backs, as they refused mid-season to join Kreese in a plan against Silver.

In the youth core of the series, even after a lot of confusion, everything goes towards a big family. Miguel and Samantha are together, as are Tory and Robby, and they’re all friends — or at least put up with each other in the worst case. Will some new character or fact again destroy the harmony between the young people?

Another big surprise from Season 5 was the announcement that Carmen is pregnant with Johnny! Undoubtedly, the birth of the child will be a fundamental part of the development of the couple and of the 6th season.

Still about couples, Chozen finally takes courage and calls his great love: Kumiko, Daniel’s then love interest in Karate Kid 2. Declaring himself on the phone, everything indicates that we will see more of the duo in a future season. It is important to mention that Chozen had a lot of screen time and importance in the plot presented in the last episodes released.

Will Cobra Kai season 6 be the last?

In an interview at the end of 2021, just before the premiere of the 4th part, producer Josh Heald stated that the series still had at least two more seasons to go – that is, fifth and sixth.

“We have more after season 5. We’re not writing the series finale for season 5. We can’t believe we’ve shot two seasons of the show this year. seen so far,” said Heald. “Season 5 is another huge season with a lot of flavors and things you haven’t seen on the show yet. And it’s not the end,” he promised.

That said, while there’s no confirmation of a potential season 7, all interviews with the producers indicate what idea they have in droves, whether it’s a sequel or…

Cobra Kai spinoff series?

That’s right! Cobra Kai could become a bigger cinematic universe, in MCU style .

During an interview with ComicBook , actor Ralph Macchio , who plays LaRusso and is one of the executive producers of the Netflix series , commented on the matter. “Cobra Kai is at the center of this Karate Kid universe, and when she’s done, there are other areas to explore.”

“Could it be… Is it a Miyagi origin story? Is there a Cobra Kai prequel before [the events of] Karate Kid? Are there spin-offs with some of the young cast characters? Who knows?” He adds: “We’re not done while we have the opportunity to bring it to life. As long as it evolves organically, the guys who write the show are in charge.”

Macchio also cites that “things that were written for season 3 that didn’t happen until season 4 because there was no more space in season 3”. The same happened with season 5, where scenes were shot and are being held in case there are more seasons.
